Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP) is Uganda’s largest and oldest conservation area, hosting 76 species of mammals and up to 451 bird species. The Victoria Nile plunges over parts of the Albertine Rift valley exploding into the dramatic Murchison falls the gem of the river. Wildlife within this largely savannah vegetation includes lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, hippo, Nile crocodile, hartebeest, oribi, Uganda kob, chimpanzee, and a variety of bird species.
